Moving the camera during scanning can result in imprecise measurements and may cause defects in panoramas. Additionally, panoramas may be skipped and will not appear in the virtual tour. Similarly, if the camera is moved while taking a still photo, it can also result in blurry areas and distorted perspectives.

Examples:

Blurry area in a scan as a result of camera movement during capture ❌

Distorted perspective for a still photo as a result of camera movement ❌

Camera moved during capture, leaving the still photo blurry ❌

Best Practices

  • Do not move the camera when it’s capturing a still photo or taking a scan - you can always delete the image/scan after capture if you are not happy with placement or if something moves during the capture process

  • Make sure the camera has finished capturing a still photo or taking a scan, and only then move it to the next spot or room

  • If the camera was moved during capture, please take another scan or another still photo
