A dirty lens can introduce smudges, fingerprints, or dust particles on the lens surface, which can adversely affect the quality and sharpness of still photos and panoramas.

A Dirty lens can result in blurry or hazy areas in the images, and they may also cause unwanted streaks, halos, or artefacts.

Best Practices

  • Always check the lens before capturing a project to make sure there are no fingerprints, smudges, or debris – This can be done with a visual inspection of the lens or checking the quality of the preview screen prior to capturing an asset

  • Use the provided microfibre cloth or wipes to clean the lens. Be gentle when cleaning the lens and avoid applying excessive pressure

  • Avoid touching the lens with your fingers
