If you place the camera in the doorway, it will take much longer to process the project and the measurements may be incorrect or not provided at all. Additionally, there may be situations where it becomes impossible to accurately draw a room.

Placing the camera in the doorway also impacts the virtual tour. It becomes challenging to position hotspots accurately, and the transitions from one panorama to another will lack smoothness.

Example:

In this virtual tour, the camera has been placed in the doorway between the WC and Utility Room and between the Porch and Hallway. As a result, measurements for the WC and separate measurements for the Porch and Hallway could not be provided.

How camera should have been placed – INSIDE each room and NOT in the doorway ✅

Best Practices

  • Make sure to place the camera INSIDE the room

  • For scans, try to position the camera in the middle of the room whenever possible

  • If it is a small room or a walk-in wardrobe where the camera can't be placed inside, place it next to the door but NOT in the doorway
