How to Capture Virtual Tours & Floorplans
Note: As opposed to capturing still images you want to centrally place the camera in each room to ensure you are scanning the entire space. Lighting is very important for each scan so double check that ceiling lights are switched on.
Below is a checklist of everything you do to capture a scan:
Place the camera as centrally located in the room as possible and not in a doorway
Open to the door of the room you are capturing
Tap the scan button to open scan preview screen
Tap "Scan" initiate the capture
Swiftly leave the room and wait for the camera sound to alert you it has completed a scan
Move the camera to the next location to scan
Note: Do not move the camera whilst the scan is in process, this will likely ruin the measurements & Images - if you need to move the camera or change something in the room you can always cancel the capture using the screen.
Always place the camera on level ground, never capture on furniture, worktops or stairs. Do not place the camera too close to the walls (in smaller rooms try to place it in the middle as much as possible).
If you are unsure how many scans you need in a room, multiple scans are a safe bet. We recommend capturing a scan at a minimum of every 15m or 49 feet in large open spaces. Scan every room as the scans will also create your FLOORPLANS. In multi level properties we recommend starting on the ground floor & making your way up one room at a time to make sure you don't forget to scan any spaces.
If you are not happy with a scan (e.g. there has been a movement during scanning or other issues), you can delete it and scan the room again.
Make sure to capture every room if any spaces are missed in the capture process then these may not be included in the floorplans. You can also scan outdoors however these will not be reflected in the floorplans, but will be in the Virtual Tours!
