Instead of providing generic capture advice, Capture Report analyses your individual project and highlights specific areas where your capture could be improved. It also shows how your capture route could be made more efficient, helping you spend less time on-site.
How to open Capture Report
Capture Report is available for processed properties from the floor plan editor.
Open a processed project.
Open Capture Report tab to view your results.
What Does The Capture Report show?
The report provides an overview of your capture, including:
An overall capture quality summary
Your coverage
The number of capture issues detected
Specific recommendations for improving your capture
An interactive view showing where issues occurred
Your capture route and suggestions for capturing the property more efficiently
The report is colour coded with the red areas being parts of a room which haven’t been scanned and the yellow areas being areas that have been partially scanned.
Capture Quality Feedback
Capture Report checks different aspects of your capture and highlights areas that may affect the final floor plan.
Property level recommendations
These recommendations look at your capture as a whole. For example, the report may identify:
Floor changes: Moving between floors during a capture can make processing more difficult.
Capture sequence: Completing one room or floor before moving to another can help create a more consistent capture.
Lighting: Poor lighting may affect the quality of your captures.
ScanView usage: For PRO Camera users, the report can show whether ScanView was used during the capture.
Individual capture recommendations
The report can also identify issues with specific panoramas. For example:
Camera movement: Avoid moving the camera while a scan is being captured.
Camera position: Avoid placing the camera in doorways.
Connected scans: Make sure each scan has at least one connected scan.
Distance from walls: Avoid placing the camera too close to a wall.
Capture spacing: Maintain an appropriate distance between scans, particularly in larger rooms.
Doors: Keep doors open while capturing to help capture the surrounding space.
Lighting: Poor lighting may be highlighted on individual scans.
You can expand the recommendations to see which panoramas are affected and better understand where your capture could be improved.
Understand Your Capture Route
The Capture Report also looks at how you moved through the property while capturing.
The report can show your actual capture route and highlight potential inefficiencies, such as:
Backtracking through areas you've already captured
Moving between floors unnecessarily
Revisiting areas
Switching between indoor and outdoor areas before completing one area
The report can then suggest a more efficient capture order for future projects.
For example, if your capture moved between floors several times, the report may suggest completing one floor before moving to the next. This can help reduce unnecessary movement and save time on-site.
