What Is an Orbital Drone Video?
The Orbital Drone Video is a short, dynamic video created from your internal property scans using Gaussian Splatting technology.
It simulates a smooth, circular “orbit” around a room – no drone or filming required.
This video is ideal for properties where only certain rooms were scanned in detail, or when you want a highly polished, social-media-friendly video without the need for a full virtual flythrough.
How It Works
1. Scan the Property
Orbital Drone Videos rely on Gaussian Splatting data.
To ensure the system can generate at least one valid orbit, follow these minimum requirements:
Scan density: at least one scan per 5m2 (min 2 scans per room)
Room size: Minimum 7.5m2
Ellipse diameter: Minimum 2m
Valid ellipses: At least 1 required
2. Automatic Ellipse Detection
The system analyses your scans for room geometry, coverage, point-cloud density, and obstacles.
If enough high-quality data is found, it generates elliptical camera paths.
Each ellipse becomes one clip of your Orbital Drone Video.
Capture Guidelines
To ensure accurate video generation and reduce the chance of “Not available” results, follow these guidelines while scanning:
High Scan Density
Place a scan approximately every 1.5–2 meters
Capture at least 2–3 angles in each room
Avoid large gaps or scanning only the center of a room
Good Room Coverage
Walk through the room in a zig-zag pattern if the space is large or elongated
Ensure furniture, walls, and objects are captured from multiple sides
Don’t skip corners or difficult areas – the algorithm needs full spatial context
Stable Environment
Turn on all lights before scanning
Keep lights and door positions consistent throughout the capture
Avoid moving objects between scans
Room Size Considerations
Rooms smaller than 7.5 m² will not generate ellipses
For tighter rooms, increase scan coverage to help the system evaluate geometry
Avoid Outdoor Scanning
Outdoor scans are not supported for Gaussian Splat videos.
