3D Floor Plan Measurements make it easier to understand the size and proportions of a property by displaying room dimensions and ceiling heights directly within the 3D Floor Plan.
Measurements appear as overlays in the 3D view, giving you useful context when exploring a property — for example, helping you understand whether a sofa could fit in a room or how much wall space is available for a TV.
What measurements are available?
The 3D Floor Plan currently displays:
Room dimensions – measurements for individual rooms.
Ceiling height – the height of the ceiling within the property.
How To Access 3D Floor Plan Measurements
To access the measurement tool:
Open any 3D floor plan
Click on the Room you'd like to measure
Click the ruler button in middle of the screen
Then move your mouse around the room to see the measurements
Room dimensions
Room dimensions displayed in the 3D model are based on the standard floor plan measurement data.
If the floor plan data is corrected through the existing support process, the 3D model is regenerated after the project is reprocessed. This ensures that the 3D measurements reflect the latest available floor plan information.
Ceiling height
Ceiling height is calculated automatically based on the project’s Z-axis data and cannot be manually adjusted.
The 3D model displays a single detected ceiling height for each room. It does not currently detect or reconstruct different ceiling geometries within a room, such as sloped or stepped ceilings.
Ceiling heights may vary between rooms, and each room’s detected ceiling height is displayed individually.
3D Floor Plan Measurements
Measurements displayed on the 3D Floor Plan are intended as a visual representation of the property and are not tied to a specific measurement standard or intended to demonstrate compliance with one.
Why use 3D measurements?
Seeing a measurement directly within the room makes it easier to understand what that measurement means in practice.
For example:
Will my bed fit in the bedroom?
How large a TV could I put on this wall?
Will my corner sofa fit in the living room?
How much space is available around the furniture?
3D measurements add practical context to the 3D Floor Plan and make it easier to explore the property without switching between different views.
Please note: 3D Floor Plan Measurements are intended for visualisation and property exploration. They are not a surveying tool and should not be used where measurements meeting a professional, legal, or regulatory standard are required.
