How to Split a Room into Zones

Split or divide an open-plan room into separate zones, such as a kitchen and living area, each with its own name, colour, and measurements.

Note: Room splitting is available for projects created on or after 3 November 2026. For projects created before this date, please contact our Support team to request room splitting.

How to Split a Room into Zones

  1. Click the "..." menu button on the Floor Plan card and select "Edit"

  2. In the Floor Plan Editor, select the room you want to divide

  3. Click "Split room" in the left-hand panel

  4. Click on the wall where you want the split to start, then drag the line across to the wall where you want it to end

  5. Click "Confirm split"

  6. Once the room is divided, select each zone to change its name and colour, if needed

  7. Click "Save & close" to save your changes

You can also split an existing zone further by selecting it and repeating the steps above.

Measurements for Room Zones

When you split a room into zones, measurements are automatically added to each new zone.

  • Dimensions: New dimension arrows are added to the floor plan for each zone

  • Room Area: Each zone displays its own calculated area

Once a room is split into zones, you can manually edit the area measurements in the Measurement Editor or adjust the position of the dimension arrows, if needed.

How to Revert to the Original Room

If you want to undo the changes and restore the original room:

  1. Open the Floor Plan Editor

  2. Select the room containing the zones you created

  3. Click "Revert to original" in the left-hand panel

  4. Click "Save & close" to save your changes

Note: You can only revert zones created using the Split room feature. Rooms that were originally processed as separate rooms cannot be merged using this feature.
